Sketch-type things
I've started doing more just plain black and white sketches recently, as opposed to a full-color, inked, the whole nine yards picture.  I'd like to get more complete pictures done, but sketching is what I've been doing the most of lately, so there's lots of stuff here.  Most of it new. ^-^ Enjoy!

Shading Girl Everyone, meet Shading Girl.  She has no name, but I drew her in a different styleas an experiment thing.  The main difference in this pic is the shading, it's more...something.  It looks kinda cool, though.
angel/devil? I'm...really not sure whether this is a demon or just an evil-looking angel.  Whatever it is, it's really cool.  I'm glad I didn't color it because it looks better this way, fits the mood or something.  Her outfit is very...interesting.  Yeah.  So are her wings, they're not your typical feathery angel wings, they look more like bat wings.  I think I was just on a drawing-mythological-creatures kick, don't mind me. ^.^
Percy-chan Persephone from _Third_ again (remember Third, the story about Acacia?  I'm thinkng of making a website for it, maybe posting a few chapters...whaddaya think?).  I sketched her on my trip to Ireland, and she was drawn on a ferry...not a moving one, of course, that would have been hard.  I like this better than the old picture of her--her hair and eyes look better, she has a cute expression and pose, and I like her shirt.
Damaris Another vacation picture.  I was (upon Sarah-chan's insistence) reading Kendermore, a book in the Dragonlance series.  This is Damaris Metwinger, a kender (kender are...well, one of my friends summed it up pretty accurately: "ten-year-old kleptomaniacs."  The "permanent children" of Krynn, the Dragonlance world.  Oh yeah, and they're immune to fear.  Aoife reminds me of one).  I thought she sounded cute...I'm not sure what they meant by "topknot" for her hair, but it also said it was in six braids so I interpreted it more like that.  And I like her clothes - those pants are supercute. ^-^
Telyn Aha!  Remember Telyn from "The Four", that picture?  Well, forget about that picture, THIS is the perfect representation of her.  I know this probably means nothing to any of you, since you don't know who she is, but...yeah, this is how she's supposed to look, if anyone cares.  The expression fits her character _exactly,_ the hair is what I was going for, it's all good. ^-^
a rose Okay, this isn't exactly black and white, but it's still a sketch sort of...my experiment with the lovely, lovely water color pencils those wonderful people at CalArts gave me. ^-^ Watercolor pencils were fun, but for some reason this was the only time I used them while I was at CalArts, that whole month...hm.  Need to get those out again.  They were fun.
Ink Girl It's like Shading Girl...except in ink.  Yes.  Actually, I drew her only in ink, no pencil sketch beforehand, so if I messed something up, like the extreme yuckiness of her hands, it had to stay that way.  Challenging, and it looks nice if you don't mess up, but if you do...bleh.
angel A more traditional angel than the one I did before, you know, typical feathery wings and such...this one looks a bit angry about something, though.  Drawn during one of many boring lectures I was forced into during my summer program at CalArts...you can see some of the notes on the side.  "As an artist, do you see yourself as a community builder?"  I don't CARE, dude.  Let me out of here.
eeee-ville Evil chick from a dream I had...I dreamt that she was a Christian fundamentalist and she was robbing my house.  Can you tell that I've never drawn a gun before and I had no reference for it?  Yes, huh?  How about that I can't draw hands holding guns, and I didn't pose my own hand and look at it as a reference like I should have?  Nobody can tell, can they?
Rachel Another dream, that same night...Rachel was a girl at my old school, also a fundie, and at lunch I'd sit with her (god knows WHY) and listen to her bitch about "homos" and how evil they all were, and her theories on why dinosaurs and humans must have existed at the same time because the bible implies somehow that they did.  Uh-huh, sure.  In this dream she was bitching about how people didn't want to say the pledge of allegiance because it has "god" in it, and I was arguing with her and this picture is her looking mad at me.  She wasn't anywhere near this cute in real life, though...
Marie Drawn on the same page as the two pictures above...that just became my Evil Fundie Girl page. ^-^ This is Marie from "Third," by the way...she's looking kind of disgusted at something, huh?  Maybe there's a gay pride march on, ooh, how SINFUL.  Oh well, at least I drew her ear, I usually leave those out.
Number 37 Freaky "Mothman Prophecies"-inspired pic, complete with my bad rendition of a Mothman. ^^;;; Yeah, a cat with furry wings, really strikes fear into your heart don't it?  The text says "Wake up, number thirty-seven..." in case you can't read my funky handwriting.  Drawn with a charcoal pencil...that Mothman got charcoal all over the opposing page in the sketchbook.  Damn him. :P
Mahri and Adrian Mahri and Adrian, from the same novel as Telyn and Sorrel are from (title is up in the air at the moment...not sure if I still want to go with "Moths Across the Moon" anymore).  I'm not going to tell you much about Adrian, 'cause it may spoil parts of the story...my roommate says he looks like Heero. O_o I was going more for the guy who plays Jess on The Gilmore Girls, but close enough.  Also charcoal pencil, and they also smeared all over the opposing page in the sketchbook...Adrian, you bastard, you.
Nanashi and Nishiro From "Under the Bridge"...this is Nanashi and her, um, boyfriend-type-guy?  Who is actually supposed to look like Nanba from HanaKimi (_exactly_ like him) but alas, I had no reference, and I suck at drawing Nanba anyway so this is Nishiro with a haircut. :P Deal.  I didn't mean to have them looking so evilly at each other...she's supposed to just be nervous/worried, and he's just supposed to be standing there, but somehow it came out as them looking like they hate each other's guts.  Ah, well.  And look!  All will bow down to my powers of the Half-Assed Background.  Fwahaha.
leopard girl Drawn at the zoo...several of my art classmates decided to draw leopard spots and various other animal prints on each other, so I expanded that idea and turned one girl, Nora, into a total leopard-anthro.  I think it looks pretty cool, m'self.
